About Cantabile d'Eymet
We begin our concert season 2026 with ' The Armed Man : A Concert for Peace ' by Sir Karl Jenkins, as well as Maurice Durufle ' Four Motets ' .
'The Armed Man' is a work that encompasses many different styles. It is a Mass for Peace, and it has African rhythms in the Sanctus, the beautiful and emotive melody of the Benedictus, the polyphony of Palestrina and folk-style movements.
We have also chosen Durufle's 'Four Motets' because 2026 is the 40th anniversary of his death. Maurice Durufle was the titular organist of Saint-Etienne-du-Mont, Paris from 1929 to 1975.
Cantabile d’Eymet is a Franco-British SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) choir of up to fifty singers performing music from many traditions and eras in Portes Sud Périgord area.
